The pigs swim directly out to greet boats in water so clear it photographs almost identically to how it looks in person, while Compass Cay's resident nurse sharks gather in shallow water genuinely safe to swim alongside. Most tours combine both stops along with additional snorkelling along the way. Day 3 is for island hopping more broadly, ideally via a private charter rather than a group tour if your budget allows it. The Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park protects a stretch of the island chain with empty sandbars, blue holes, and water in shades of blue that don't need photo editing — a private boat covers considerably more ground and avoids the crowds that group tours bring to the most famous stops. Day 4, your final day, is best kept slow and simple — a beach day at your resort, perhaps with kayaking or paddleboarding if you want a low-key final activity before departure. A few practical notes: book boat tours well ahead, since the swimming pigs and nurse shark trips are genuinely popular and capacity-limited, especially in peak season. Bring cash for smaller settlements, since card payment isn't always reliable outside the main resorts.
